Testing Blood Sugar
Blood sugar should be kept as close as possible to normal. You will need to test several times a day to see how your eating habits are effecting it.
Learn how your activities are changing your test results. Look for patterns and discuss them with your doctor.
Test more often when you are sick.
Typical test results are 90 - 130 mg/dl before a meal and less than 180 mg/dl 1 to 2 hours after a meal. If it goes higher than that you should see your doctor.
