After much testing of my blood sugar after meals, I realize now that sugar is not my worst enemy. I already was avoiding most sugar in my diet, but I needed to find out what types of food were raising my blood sugar.
I found that oatmeal was as bad as white bread in my case. Whole wheat bread was as bad as crackers etc. There is way more to this blood sugar thing than I thought and I was determined to find a diet to control my diabetes and still enjoy eating a decent meal.
The good news is that it is possible to have really good food while taking care of your health.
