Low Carb Diet is Not Good for Diabetics.
Our ancestors had no refined foods and their body handled whatever they ate with no problem. We refine just about everything we eat and our body will struggle just to get rid of all of the junk.
It would be wise for everyone to learn which foods have a low glycemic index and base a healthy diet on those foods.
A low glycemic food, such as fresh vegetables, releases carbohydrates slowly, so you don't get as much of a blood sugar spike after eating a meal.

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=John_Demusz]John Demusz
Twenty-five percent of the population will never get diabetes no matter how many carbohydrates they eat. The rest of us are not so lucky and have to watch out.
Diabetes can sneak up on you without ever giving you any warning at all. You probably heard about the signs to look out for like being thirsty, itching, blurry vision, and all the rest. But what if you are without the common symptoms and would like to know how you stand.
Well you can get a pretty good idea from a simple meal and you will have time to change your lifestyle to most likely never getting diabetes. This test is very accurate and you do it yourself in your own home.
Eat a large pasta meal for lunch on a day that is fairly normal for you. Do not eat anything else for 3 hours. Notice how you feel at the 3 hour mark. Are you sleepy, are your eyes just wanting you to take a nap? If this is the case, then you are genetically at risk of eventually being pre diabetic and getting diabetes.
The good news is that you now know your condition and still have time to do something about it before it gets worse. Let this be your wake up call. Don't wait until high blood sugar starts causing damage to your body.
Get with your doctor and get tested and ask for diet help. Your doctor can lead you in the right direction as far as the necessary tests for future monitoring of your health. Read up on how to prevent diabetes from ever happening to you. The more you know, the better you will be able to lead a normal healthy life.

Diet Can Control Diabetes - Proper Diet is a Must If You Want to Stop Diabetes From Getting Worse
Ask anyone with diabetes and they will tell you the most difficult part of dealing with the disease is trying to figure out what they can and cannot eat. Having a well constructed meal plan is not something a diabetic can afford to skimp out on. You can easily see when diabetic is having problems keeping their blood sugar levels at the proper positions. They are able to keep their blood sugar level in the right place, they are able to keep their complications from the disease minimized.
Many times a diabetic will be told by their doctors that if they will lose some weight they will have much better control over the problems diabetes can cause. The main thing anyone who has diabetes is trying to avoid is developing type II diabetes. If you are able to control your weight, the risk of developing second stage diabetes as well as further complications decrease drastically.
Keeping your weight under control is also a good way to make sure you are not going to be constantly relying upon medications to control your diabetes. The main issue people talk about what diabetes is the intake of carbohydrates. While it is not a good idea to cut out all carbohydrates, you do need to be very careful with what you eat when you are a diabetic.
Obviously you be more likely to need protein to keep your blood sugar level at a better pace than carbohydrates. Also beware that sugar comes in the form of many different carbohydrates. So just because you're reading the label and it doesn't say anything about sugar, that does not mean that the carbohydrates within the food itself will not turn into sugar.
Some of the things you will need to cut completely out of your diet are beer and liquor. These are nothing more than empty carbohydrates that will turn straight into sugar.
The best thing you can do for yourself is to create a meal plan that is built around curbing the complications that can arise from diabetes. Your diet is not something you can take for granted. If you want to make sure you do everything you can to keep the disease from progressing, you should get working on a meal plan as soon as possible.
There is a resource for a Free Diabetic Diet Plan that I have found and would like to share. Answer 5 questions about the stage of your condition and they will create a meal plan for you.
